Chandler police receive alcohol-awareness program grant
The Chandler Police Department has been awarded a $25,000 grant toward an alcohol-awareness program called Know Your Limit.
The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety awarded the grant to Chandler’s traffic unit in an effort to educate the public on the effects of alcohol.
According to Chandler police, officers will allow attendees to blow into a portable breath tester and see how their alcohol consumption affects the amount of alcohol in their bloodstreams. Each participant will also receive an informational flier about the program.
The goal of the program, according to Chandler police, is to make people aware of their level of alcohol, which will allow them to make informed decisions about whether to drive.
