Chandler police welcome a new officer

In December of 2006, Shevy was diagnosed with an inoperable brain cancer. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and donations from his teachers and friends at Dobson Academy, Shevy was able to have his second wish fulfilled, to visit the Happiest Place on Earth in Florida for his birthday. He had a wonderful time with his mother and sisters but his first wish still remained to be granted, to become a Chandler Police Officer. Sergeant Scott Yarbrough learned of Shevy’s situation and brought it to CLASA’s attention. Through a combined, department wide effort, with support from Chief Kiyler and the entire police department, we (the Department) were able to grant Shevy’s wish. The generosity of the men and women of the Chandler Police Department was inspiring. Shevy got his special day. Members of the Chandler Police Department got something too, time to be with a very special person. Welcome to the Department, Shevy.
